Solaborate: Blazing it's Own Trail

Making a name for itself

It’s not Facebook.

It’s not LinkedIn.

Solaborate is a newer social and collaboration platform that caters to the technology professional and it is a refreshing concept to the crowded and often analogous social media site. Granted, Solaborate has a familiar look, feel, and allows for connecting to other social media. But unlike its older siblings Facebook and LinkedIn, Solaborate actually went to school and earned a degree.

What exactly is a social platform with a degree?

Simply put, it's smarter.

Yep, that's me. Click to meet me.
Solaborate recognized that the ability to actually allow its users to accomplish work would set itself apart from other platforms. Not only can you collaborate socially, you can also attack tasks such as online meetings (HTML5 makes for smoother interface), analytics for content customization to target demographics, desktop sharing, and  much more- all in real-time.

Tools like these set Solaborate apart from Facebook and LinkedIn. Try finishing a group project on one of those sites (Hint: there will be a lot of waiting around after hitting the send button).

The best tools that inspired Solaborate were used to build it

Brilliant really.

It’s easier to modify the wheel than it is to create a new design from scratch. Instead of building a whole new wheel, Solaborate took the best spokes from Facebook (social ability), the rim from LinkedIn (professional networking), and tire tread from Google+ (analytics), and simply improved them to fit its social audience.

The tools Solaborate tweaked to perfection are HTML5, WebSockets, and WebRTC. What they have given the technology professionals is a site that not only offers social interaction with peers, but also the ability to come together and get business accomplished in an easy-to-use platform.

Which will lead to more Solaboration (social/collaboration)

Solaborate has the most potential in regards to business than many other social platforms. Companies will be able to share demonstrations, enable feedback from users, and locate individuals with the exact skill sets they need. Tech questions can be sought out and answered; obstacles will be overcome and although it’s technically “work”, it won't feel like it. Tech companies will have another resource for their technicians to research and solve problems while supporting their products and services better.

The ability to market and share new ideas can be accomplished easily either one-on-one or through discussion groups (again in real-time). Utilization of SAP HANA-the in-memory data platform- allows businesses to analyze, project, and anticipate user response to new products.

Unlike other social platforms where companies are competing for attention against other market detractors, Solaborate will allow businesses to focus on their target audience and get real reaction in return; as the site grows, so does its potential to reach new audiences and grow influence.
